Junior Mints

For some reason, Duane was fascinated with an empty box of Junior Mints a few weeks ago. I think the box was left over from going to the movies or something. Whatever it was from, Baby Du enjoyed it.

Superbowl Party!

Pastor and I aren't into football very much, but we love to mingle. We were invited to a Superbowl party by sister Rosemary who helped bring him here from Peru to school. It was great fun and Duane really enjoyed seeing new faces and new places.

Duane was such a good boy on the ride. We took several wrong turns before we finally found where we were supposed to be.

The cabin the party was held at.

Baby Duane enjoyed another kind of futball.

Group photo! There was a larger number people at the party, but these are the individuals Pastor met in Peru.

It was such a blast to hang out with fun people!

Doctor's Visit

It's again time for a baby update. Duane had an appointment with Dr. Wilcox on the 10th. Luckily, he didn't have any immunizations.

Baby Duane did have to get his toe pricked to check his iron. The poor little guy is half naked in the photo. The nurse had to strip him down to take his proper weight. So the stats are in. My little guy now weighs 21.45 lbs, at least he did a week ago. He was also 29.2 inches tall, which is in the 74 percentile. He's a tall baby!

Duane has been such a good baby. He's healthy and strong, which we are extremely thankfull for.

Monticello, UT

My dad came to get the baby and me to go down to Monticello. We moved to Monticello the summer before my junior year in high school. I LOVE going home to a place where you can see the stars sparkling in the sky! The baby had so much fun too. He really enjoyed seeing his uncles and playing non-stop. You can tell he felt at home by the way he just got into everything like he would at our place.

This is my dad pulling us behind his tractor.

This is the baby and me riding on a sled through the snow behind the tractor.

My dad has quite a few kitties on his property. Most of them are from litters, but Fluffy he found and nursed back to health. He was really weak and would come near the house probably in search of food. He was wild, but after my dad befriended him, he became the sweetest kitty. He'll climb up your pants to retrieve morsels of food. This is both Star and Fluffy.

The baby liked being on the small trampoline my parents had in their office. He thought it was the neatest thing.

The second night there, my parents went to watch a movie while the kids and I had a fun night. Mama told me that they made these spider cookies for Halloween and the boys ask to make them all the time after that. This is my little brother Jared with his masterpiece.

This was the one that I made.

This is Zee and his little spider cookie.

Will made some, but he ate them too quickly to take a picture!

Mister Jared making a silly smile!

Duane showed little interest in making spider cookies, but he sure loved to eat the chocolate shells.

The little crib that Duane slept in while staying at grandma & grandpa's. We had to use a few blakets to keep him warm. Don't you love the pink satin?

On Valentines Day, Will had a Church-ball game.

In this picutre, Will in the one near the door. I still can't believe that he's taller than I am. I told him that he would have to walk around on his knees while I was there so I wouldn't have to face reality. ;)

Nancy loves to peel things. She'll peel cucumbers and carrots by the bushel! She's such a doll. The baby was fascinated by her and followed her from room to room at times.

My sleeping boy. He was tuckered out after getting up before nine.

Baby Du's uncles made him a mountain to climb on out of the mattress I was using to sleep on at night.

Rolly, rolly, rolly . . .

He turned into a mountain goat!

Letting the air out of the mattress.

The entire family!

25 Random Things (From Facebook)

RULES: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you

1) I eat chocolate after I work out.
2) I give chocolate to my baby! :o)
3) I love goats and would like to have a dairy farm full of them one day. (Does that mean I aspire to be the crazy goat lady?)

5) I paint and draw really well.
6) I can cook fairly well.

15) I'm not the best housekeeper.
16) I love to shop DI!
17) I watch the sci-fi channel more than I'd like to admit.
18) I talk to my nine month old non-stop. When we go shopping I ask him questions about what he thinks of what we're going to buy, or if I should buy one thing or another. People often look at me like I'm crazy.

First Steps

A certain wee little boy that I know took his first steps yesterday! Jessica, a friend of mine, came over to our place. The baby really liked her and wanted to go to her. He reached out, stood up, and took his first two steps. Then he realized no one was holding him and fell on his padded bum. Thank heavens babies wear all that padding!

He was so adorable. He's always loved the ladies! I was impressed because he's usually shy at first, but he warmed up to Jessica first thing!

Park Fun

It was sunny a few days ago so I took Duane to a park a couple of blocks away. I was disapointed because the park didn't have a baby slide or a baby swing. We had a nice little walk though!
